ARGENTINE DESIGNERS: MIN AGOSTINI
Min Agostini uses her training and skills as an architect to bring a new level of structural innovation to her self-titled label. Min’s simple, minimalist style strongly reflects her close understanding of materials and space.
The real female form is the starting point for her creative process. Every aspect of her design evolves from the three-dimensional figure and the fabric’s unique qualities. The simplicity of each material is transformed through pleating, overlapping seams, enfolding ribbons and is constructed sculpturally into innovative forms.
Her design background and international working experiences explain her unique sculptural style. She had a brief, successful career as an architect before studying fashion in Milan. After her transition to clothing design, she launched an independent line in 2007, and has only met success. Min has been awarded the prestigious Argentine "Tijera de Plata", first prize of the "Salon de Diseño del Mercosur," and named Designer of the Year by "Puro Diseño."
This will be her second collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York.
Min Agostini has two boutiques in Buenos Aires; her designs are also sold in luxury stores throughout Europe and the United States.
