DESIGN SUITES
FALL 2007 COLLECTIONS
The beautiful Los Angeles spring weather reminds the fashionable Angeleno of the basic neutrals, summer florals, and pastel hued ballet flats recently purchased at Tracey Ross for the months to come, and yet she is already planning far ahead for the rich colors and textures of the autumn season.
Angeleno chic draws from inspirations around the world for the fall looks. Whether it is a classic silhouette, similar to those adorning mannequins that grace store windows on the streets of Milan, a brightly colored croc clutch reminiscent of romantic days in Rome, or the layering of colors and prints favored by Parisian locals, this eclectic mix of influences is what the Californian Angeleno exemplifies.
Fall previews suggest that the Angeleno will soon be choosing from masculine inspired tailoring, skin-soft cashmeres, and peep-toe platforms for the day and girlish party frocks paired with bold jewels for the eve.
Just like the fashionistas, this season of The Design Suites looks forward to an alluring mix of bold and demure, casual and elegant, and trendy and classic.
We're proud to present the sixth season of the Design Suites. We're thrilled to be on-site this season at Smashbox Studios and presenting such a fantastic collection of designers across various categories.
We'll see you at the Design Suites!!!

Mimi A La Mode designs glamorous bed and bath accessories for women of all ages. Her current line is inspired by a Hollywood Starlet who decided to throw a spa party for some of her friends. At the party a selection of the starlets favorite Mimi A La Mode accessories were utilized. They included of course the gold star showercap she loves to use while deep conditioning her hair. Her friends follow her lead with the pink daisy bouffant, the pink poodle style with big bow and flower and clear princess showercap. After the deep conditioning treatment they all pulled back their hair and applied mud face masks and relaxed with a cup of green tea with the super cute lace facial headband on. All the beautifying made the group exhausted, so they all laid down for a cat nap with the silk sleepmask with a pretty butterfly print and silk ribbon ruffle while listening to relaxing music and breathing in fragrant aromatherapy scents. Ahhh

Common themes for the Zandra Rhodes Handbag Collection are the mixing and layering of leathers, colors and prints combined on one profile. In fact, while the silhouettes are classic, the look is very modern, with subtle inserts of Zandra Rhodes signature print designs. For Fall 2007, the collection signals a movement away from the soft and slouchy trend to a more structured, sophisticated, and tailored look. Colors are rich, yet show very neutral: dark purple, espresso, rust, brown, black, deep navy and olive; with bronze, amethyst and gold metallic; all paired with printed Lamb skins and novelty Anaconda, using all Italian leather. Embellishments of custom, shiny gold hardware, oversized Swarovski crystal, and edgy, lacing treatments are then used in conjunction with Zandra's signature shimmering jacquard handbag lining.
