Special Issue to be distributed throughout official events and locations.

Today, Clear Magazine announces it will debut a special tree-free, 100% recyclable fall fashion issue during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York, September 2009. The limited-edition issue will be distributed throughout the week at related venues: in Tents at Bryant Park, and at hotels and galleries throughout the city. Printed on YUPO® synthetic papers, Clear's newest environmentally friendly issue, themed "dream weavers," is the brainchild of Clear's founder and creative director, Emin Kadi, and the second 100% recyclable, tree-free issue in the last year for the magazine. Clear is a proud supporter of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Clear's unique, limited edition "green" solution closes the gap on source reduction and recycling. YUPO® is completely waterproof, stain resistant and resistant to tearing. Its unique printing surface results in exceptional color reproduction and print clarity. YUPO® is a perfect match for Clear, a special and collectable publication. Clear's special fall fashion issue will withstand the wear and tear of the repeated viewing that it demands. YUPO® papers' light weight allows significant fuel reduction in shipping and a lower overall carbon footprint. Should one wish to dispose of the issue, it may be placed in a recycling bin with any other plastic items, and it will be fully recycled.

The fall issue will feature leading personalities in the worlds of fashion, design and art, including Stefan Sagmeister, Issey Miyake, Hussein Chalayan, Yigal Azrouël, Matthew Williamson, Ross Lovegrove, Barbara Bui, Todd Bracher, Cappellini, Terence Koh and more. Stefan Sagmeister has designed a special cover for the occasion.

"Our goal is to provide readers with unmatched presentations of the world's most inspiring creative artists and events. Our ongoing partnership with YUPO® allows us to do so in an environmentally responsible, respectful way. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is the premier fashion event and a wonderful setting at which to share our newest green accomplishment," says Kadi.

YUPO® is a 100% "tree-free" product, containing neither timber nor any other organic fiber. As such, YUPO® contributes to the preservation of our natural timber resources. YUPO® synthetic paper generates no detectable amounts of sulfur, chlorine, nitrogen, or dioxin gases when properly incinerated and generates less heat energy compared to other plastics. No ozone layer-threatening emissions result from the manufacturing process.100% Recyclable YUPO® synthetic paper is a category 5 polypropylene (PP) plastic film. Due to its exceptional durability, YUPO® normally enters the waste stream at a far slower rate than conventional paper and will remain inert in any approved landfill. YUPO® synthetic papers can be reclaimed as a plastic resin and used in manufacturing a wide variety of both industrial and consumer products. These products exhibit the same performance characteristics as those made with virgin plastics.
